1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account and Relationship Information

When you create or use an account in LovNest, we may process:

• Name or nickname you provide.
• Profile details such as avatar, relationship start date, special days, and preferences (e.g., language).
• Information about your couple profile (for example, couple ID, partner ID, shared settings).

1.2 Relationship Content You Add

LovNest is built to help you and your partner track memories and special days. Depending on how you use the App, we may store:

• Journal entries: Text notes you write, titles, timestamps, and any images you attach.
• Calendar events and special days: Event titles, descriptions, dates, reminder settings, and which couple they belong to.
• Photos or media attached to notes or other features: These are stored in Firebase Storage and linked to your couple profile.
• Settings and preferences: For example, whether journal notifications are enabled, language, theme choices, and onboarding status.

1.3 Real‑Time Location Information (Optional)

Location sharing is entirely optional in LovNest. The App never tracks your location unless you explicitly enable location permissions and choose to share your location with your partner from the location screen.

When you enable location sharing:

• LovNest accesses your device GPS/location data only to provide real‑time sharing to your partner and to show your positions on the in‑app map.
• Your current or last shared location (latitude/longitude, timestamp) is stored in our backend (Firebase Firestore) within your couple document so that your partner can see it.
• Location requests (for example, when your partner taps "request location") are stored in a separate collection (e.g., locationRequests) with:
  • Couple ID, requester ID and name, partner name.
  • Timestamp of the request and request status.

When you stop sharing your location from within the App, we stop updating your location and set your location field in the database to null. Your partner will no longer see your live position in LovNest.

We do not use your location data for advertising, selling to third parties, or building movement profiles outside of LovNest’s couple features.

1.4 Notifications and Device Identifiers

LovNest uses push notifications to let you and your partner know about important events and activity (for example, when a new journal entry is added or a location request is sent).

• We obtain a device‑specific push token from Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging and store it in Firebase under your user profile (pushToken field).
• This token is used only to send LovNest‑related push notifications between you and your partner (e.g., journal, location, and relationship notifications).
• You can disable notifications at the OS level at any time. If notifications are off, LovNest cannot send push notifications to that device.

1.5 Subscription and Purchase Information

LovNest offers optional Premium features (for example, advanced location sharing and extended limits). Purchases and subscriptions are managed via the Apple App Store / Google Play Store and a third‑party billing SDK (RevenueCat via react-native-purchases).

• We receive non‑sensitive purchase status information such as product identifiers, active/expired status, and entitlement information.
• We never receive or store your full payment card details. Payments are handled by Apple or Google.

1.6 Technical, Usage, and Diagnostics Data

When you use LovNest, we may automatically collect:

• Device information: Device model, operating system version, language and region settings.
• App usage data: Basic analytics on which screens are used (e.g., calendar, journal, location), feature usage, and timestamps. This is limited and used to improve stability and UX.
• Logs and crash data: Error messages and stack traces if the app crashes or encounters errors, so we can diagnose and fix issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To provide the core LovNest features: shared calendar, special days, journals, statistics, and couple‑to‑couple communication.
• To provide real‑time location sharing between partners when you enable it, and to handle location requests and map views.
• To send push notifications about new notes, events, reminders, and location requests when your notification settings allow it.
• To manage and verify Premium subscriptions and entitlements.
• To secure your account, prevent abuse and fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• To monitor performance, fix bugs, and improve the stability and user experience of the App.
• To comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.

3. Legal Bases (EEA / UK Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Contractual necessity: To provide you with the LovNest service (e.g., creating a couple account, storing your notes and events, linking you with your partner).
• Consent: For optional features such as push notifications and location sharing. You can withdraw your consent at any time by disabling location sharing in the App and turning off related permissions or notifications on your device.
• Legitimate interests: To maintain and improve the App, prevent fraud and misuse, and support customer service, provided these interests are not overridden by your rights and interests.
• Legal obligations: To comply with accounting, tax, and other legal requirements.

4. Data Storage and Security

4.1 Where Your Data Is Stored

• Firebase: We use Google Firebase (Firestore, Auth, and Storage) to store user profiles, couple data, journals, events, location data, and media files.
• Local storage: Some settings (e.g., language, onboarding status, cached user data) are stored locally on your device using secure local storage mechanisms.

4.2 How We Protect Your Data

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

• Using industry‑standard security provided by Firebase and Expo (encrypted transport using HTTPS, authenticated access control rules).
• Restricting access to production data to authorized personnel only.
• Designing our schema so that location data is scoped to your couple and not publicly accessible.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

5.1 Service Providers and Partners

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information with trusted third‑party service providers who help us operate LovNest, such as:

• Google Firebase: Hosting, database, authentication, and file storage.
• Expo / Firebase Cloud Messaging: Sending push notifications to your device.
• Apple App Store and Google Play Store: Handling payments, subscriptions, and refunds.
• RevenueCat (via react-native-purchases): Managing subscription entitlements and purchase validation.
• Analytics / crash reporting tools (if enabled): For performance monitoring and bug fixing.

These providers may process your data on our behalf and are contractually or legally required to use it only for providing their services to us and to protect it appropriately.

5.2 Sharing Between You and Your Partner

By design, LovNest is for two people in a couple. Certain data you add is shared with your linked partner inside the App, including:

• Journal entries and attached images (if they are part of your shared couple space).
• Events, special days, and reminders stored for your couple.
• Your real‑time location when you enable sharing, and your partner’s location when they enable it.

You should only join a couple with someone you trust and with whom you want to share this information.

5.3 Legal and Safety Reasons

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to:

• Comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
• Enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements.
• Protect the rights, property, or safety of LovNest, our users, or the public.

6. Your Rights and Choices

6.1 Access, Update, and Deletion

• You can view and edit much of your data (such as events, notes, and profile information) directly inside the App.
• You can delete specific journal entries, events, or images from within LovNest.
• You may request access or deletion of your account‑related data by contacting us at support@rsndijital.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on such requests.

6.2 Location and Notification Controls

• You can enable or disable location sharing at any time from the location screen in LovNest.
• You can revoke LovNest’s access to location in your device settings (iOS / Android), including choosing "While Using the App" or turning it off completely.
• You can change notification permissions in your device settings so that LovNest cannot send you push notifications.

6.3 Subscription Management

You can manage or cancel any LovNest Premium subscription from your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account settings. We cannot cancel subscriptions on your behalf.

6.4 Additional Rights (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under data protection laws (such as GDPR or CCPA), including the rights to:

• Request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data, in some circumstances.
• Object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
• Request data portability.

7. Children's Privacy

LovNest is designed for adults and is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction for using such relationship apps). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has used LovNest or provided us with personal information, please contact us. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under the applicable age limit, we will take steps to delete such information.

8. International Data Transfers

Our services and third‑party providers (such as Firebase and RevenueCat) may be located in different countries. This means your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, which may have different data protection laws.

Where required, we take appropriate measures to ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws, for example by relying on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards provided by our service providers.

9. Data Retention

We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide LovNest and its features, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. In particular:

• Couple and user profile data is kept while your account is active.
• Journal entries, events, and relationship content are kept until you delete them or your account is deleted.
• Location data is kept only as needed to provide the service (current and recent locations) and is cleared when you stop sharing.
• Some records (e.g., billing‑related information) may be retained for longer periods where required by law.

10. Third‑Party Links and Services

LovNest may include links to third‑party websites or services (for example, map providers such as Google Maps for navigation). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of these external services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, new features in LovNest, or legal requirements.

When we make material changes, we will:

• Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page; and/or
• Provide an in‑app message or notice where appropriate.

Your continued use of LovNest after such changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
